Ants

I have noticed in my raised garden (I have the bed on top of pallets 2 high) that I am seeing more and more ants, especially after this ran we have had. Do you have this problem and if you do, is there a natural way to get rid of them. Also, besides bitting me are they harmful to the vegetables? Thanks.
